THE PINEWOOD
The pine forest composed of pine and maritime pine, is a result of afforestation made between the '40s and '50s to defend against the sea winds, filled with aerosol, agricultural crops and valleys beyond. Over time, these formations are naturally spiced undergrowth of rare elements, such as orchids. The presence of oak in the undergrowth, sometimes abundant, bears witness to the spontaneous tendency towards the formation of a Mediterranean-type forest. The pinewood offers significant biospazio colonized by fauna. Among the birds easily detect the presence of p woodpecker that you can hear while flying on the trunks of plants deperienti in search of larvae. Nest also numerous species, including the cuckoo, the nightingale, the blackcap el'upupa which hunts larvae processionary. Although many reptiles and mammals, including foxes, hares el'elusivo rate, found refuge in this favorable environment. There have been reports of deer specimens probably from the island of Albarella, where the species not native, is present in a state of semi-freedom.
