BOTANICAL GARDEN
Coastal Botanical Gardens of the Veneto, made in 1991 by the Forest Service Regional Office for the provinces of Padova and Rovigo, aims to protect and conserve the natural environment and unique, of great scientific interest. The Forest Service it manages, coordinates and supervises the activities while the scientific and popular visitation and teaching are followed by the Park Regional del Delta del Po Veneto Located at the southern end of the peninsula of Caleri, which separates the sea from the lagoon Caleri of the Garden, which covers an area of 44 hectares, is characterized by the presence of a remarkable variety of habitats, from the lagoon to the sand dunes to the beach. The flora is very rich in species, among which stand out some rare endemics, such as the cornflower Tommasini and Salicornia veneta. These disorders are poorly frequented by many animals, including birds may be mentioned the elusive nightjar and the colorful bee-eaters, including the rare amphibians pelobate Hazy, whose garden is home to the only population of Veneto, one of the reptiles turtle . The garden is visited annually by more than 10,000 people, following some 4 km of trails, have the opportunity to know the sequence of vegetation and the species, which are all idenfiticabili by affixing the labels. A visitor center, decorated with dioramas, models and reconstructions of environments, will advance knowledge in the field.
